REV. Dr. Tina K. Boyles Bailey

Dr. Boyles Bailey is a visual and performing artist. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design as well as two Master of Arts degrees in Communication and Religious Education. She holds a Doctorate focusing on Art and Spiritual Formation. Tina is also an Endorsed  Chaplain and a certified Trauma-informed Expressive Arts Therapist.

She is a minister to the arts community, refugees, and immigrants in Europe. Based in Graz, Austria, she mentors artists and provides trauma-informed care for refugee and immigrant communities in group and individual settings. In addition, she trains others on how to provide trauma-informed care.

Life of Women and the plight of the oppressed have influenced her approach to arts and life. Tina has exhibited internationally and has multiple works in private collections.  Her painting “Forgiven”  was featured on the cover of the book “ Letting The Other Speak:” By Dr. Tracy Hartman. Tina has incorporated visual and performing arts and therapeutic practices in response to traumatic situations around the world.  Not limited to but including the Bali bombings (dance), the Asian tsunami, and her experiences with West African refugees and the Refugee crisis in Iraq (visual arts). She holds workshops and leads contemplative retreats on creativity and imagination incorporating drama, dance, music, visual arts, improvisation, and spirituality. She mentored inmates to develop life skills through painting, drawing, and dance in arts programs in two of Bali’s Prisons for 12 years

“Lagu Maria”, a Balinese Gamelan composition for Ballet, was composed specifically for her based on the Magnificat.  She regularly performs both together with gamelan musicians and as a member of improvisational formations. In 2012, 2013, and 2015 she performed with Narwastu at the Bali Art Festival, the most prestigious art event in Bali Indonesia.  In 2017 She collaborated with conductor Paulo Peroni to Choreograph a segment of  Monteverdi’s “Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda,”
